States of Being

20th April, 2009

The underlying experiences for a particular incarnation are experienced by the incarnation in form of 'states'. These states are nothing but 'what is' coupled with the current life situations of the incarnation in question. The states keep changing with the changes in life situations also. In other words, these states are a combination of fixed and variable attributes for an incarnation.

When an incarnation encounters these states, for the first time reaction to these states is simultaneous and the outcome is positive or negative, whatever. The incarnation has had no pre-occupation with these states till the first time they were encountered. But after the first time, 'thoughts' start generating about that state. Here starts a loop. For example, thoughts try to modify the experienced state with possibilities about how the event/state could have occurred in an alternative manner and what all new events could be generated from this. Most of the time, thoughts are regarding the 'alternative expected results' that could be achieved from the state. By and large, this is 'living in the past' trying to speculate about possibilites in a particular state.

A preoccupation with these thoughts starts involving 'emotions' to that thought, which then are generate 'reactions'. For example, if a state was experienced with irritation, next time such state is encountered in form of 'anger' and the reaction to the same can be violence or a verbal fight, whatever. Reactions are then followed with action ie whatever an incarnation finds itself to be forced to do in order to pacify itself from this reaction related load/stress. This action is followed by a result of the action. This can be good or bad (we call this karma also). So, the loop is - states, thoughts, emotions, reactions, action, result.

However, such a loop of state, thoughts, emotion, reaction and result does not need to be undergone as this is tiresome and plays down on the overall well being of a particular incarnation. The state just needs to be 'observed' and it should be allowed to pass by without being attached the emotion and thereby acting unreasonably. For a state, an incarnation can choose to get detached from the thoughts thereby breaking the loop. For example, if we see a child playing on stairs, it is possible that s/he falls. So we can try to stop her/him from playing on stairs and provide an alternative place for the play rather than stopping the play all together.

When thoughts arise for a particular state, they should be allowed to pass by without getting attached to them because attachment generates emotions and reactions.

This attachment can be overcome by reverting to the core. All the negetive thoughts (about something that has occurred or can occur) can be then 'transformed' into positive vibrations for positive states by visualising a sequence of events which are positive and strengthening for living beings. Again, allow this visualization to just pass by in the mind space without getting attached to it because attachment is itself negative. If something seemingly positive has happened due to a state, then also allow it to just pass by being a mere observer rather than being attached to it and longing for more.
